PW PTSO June 4th Meeting Minutes

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School PTSO Meeting Minutes – June 4, 2025

In attendance: Dr. Bacani, Principal; Mr. Young, Teacher Representative; PTSO Officers Carrie Dobrowolski, Jeannette Wood, Dianne Manges; Parent Liz Schull.

Principal’s Report / Teachers’ Report: Dr. Bacani and Mr. Young

· Plymouth Whitemarsh High School is finishing another successful year for students

· Final Exams for Seniors have been taking place this week (week of June 2), and Finals for underclassmen will take place next week (week of June 9).

· Last day of school for underclassmen is Friday 6/13 with an early dismissal

· The Senior Class enjoyed a Senior Swim Party on June 3 at Ply Mar Swim Club

· Senior Prom is this Friday 6/6 at The Drexelbrook

· Senior Picnic – hosted and sponsored by the PW PTSO – takes place Tuesday 6/10, 9:00 am to 11;00. Seniors will receive their yearbook and cap-and-gown.

· Graduation will be held on Weds June 11th at 6:00 pm at the Stadium; rain date is Thurs 6/12

· The Freshman class enjoyed a class trip to Hersheypark on Monday 6/2

College Counseling Updates: We have moved to using a new college and career platform called Scoir. This program will fully replace Naviance in late July. All students have access to Naviance until July 31, and they already have access to Scoir in Clever. Class of 2026 parents/guardians were emailed an invite through Scoir (whatever email contact was in Powerschool) or they can be invited by their student in Scoir.

Finals Week Essay Brainstorming Workshop
Location: Cafeteria
Thursday, June 12 from 11:15am-12:15pm after dismissal

PTSO Business:

· The PTSO has been busy planning to host the PW Senior Picnic to be held at the Stadium on Tuesday 6/10, 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Thanks to the many donations of food items and money from PW Families, along with proceeds from the Senior Lawn Signs, we’re looking forward to a fun morning for the Seniors, including Chick Fil A sandwiches, Kona Ice, Philly Soft Pretzels, PW Cookies, and a variety of chips (donated from Herr’s), candies, and waters (several cases donated from Wawa Cares).

· SENIOR LAWN SIGNS: we’ve successfully handed out pre-ordered lawn signs to nearly 200 families. Monies raised from these sales directly benefited the Senior Picnic

· The PWHS PTSO is proud to sponsor many activities such as: Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day, class events, scholarships, Sunshine Fund (for occasional student/class needs), the Senior Picnic, and a gift-to-school. We also provide volunteer support for events like Homecoming, Powder Puff Football, Senior Picnic, and more.
