Ridge Park Elementary School students recognize Earth Day with school-wide clean-up
Ridge Park Elementary School students helped clean up their part of the planet on April 25 with an all-school, all hands-on-deck day of work outside to beautify the school grounds.
Students donned work gloves and picked up rakes, hoes, shovels, spades, and other tools to help plant flowers, clear out debris that had accumulated over the winter, and get rid of weeds. Students also used chalk to decorate the sidewalks with messages about Earth Day. Many parent volunteers were on hand to support and lend gardening tools.
The annual tradition is one that Ridge Park Elementary School students and families look forward to every year as a way to give back to their school community and to the planet. Earth Day was observed this year on April 22.
