Plymouth Whitemarsh High School softball team wins third straight SOL Championship

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School's softball team has clinched the Suburban One League Liberty Division championship for the third year in a row, following a season that saw the team push through some early losses to an overall 15-5 record.
The team faces off May 18 against Central Bucks East on the first day of PIAA District 1 6A playoffs. Their 15-5 record and strength of schedule was enough to earn the Colonials the #9 seed.
The season began for the Colonials with a 2-3 record, but they turned things around with a late season push that included separate winning streaks of five and six games. The only two losses during that stretch came in an 11-inning, 2-1 loss to West Chester East (the #1 seed in PIAA D1 5A) and an 8-inning loss to Pennsbury (#3 seed in PIAA D1 6A).
After losing an early league game against Quakertown, the Colonials finished league-play with a 9-1 record, good enough to secure the Suburban One Liberty Division League Championship. After winning just two league championships in the program's history (1999 & 2008), this is the Colonials' third straight league championship.
