Marching Colonials take first place at Cavalcade of Bands Championship

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Marching Colonials won first place in the Cavalcade of Bands Championship in Dallastown on Nov. 2.

The marching band performed its show, “The Golden Rule,” and received a score of 92.85 and won awards for High Colorguard, High Overall Effect, and High Visual. The band competed against 14 other bands from across the state who belong to the Independence A, Yankee Open, Patriot Freedom division.

The band performed classic pieces such as “Nessun Dorma” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and featured a message of reminding everyone of the power of treating others the way they would like to be treated.

“We do not set out to win competitions but it certainly is nice and a wonderful validation of all of our hard work,” said Director Bobbey Biddle. “Watching our students grow, improve, and excel is always the greatest gift.”

Along with Mr. Biddle, the band staff and students include:

Assistant Director: Veronica Laguna

Instructional Staff: Sami Kessler, Casey Brady, Skylar Barton, Patrick Orlando, Soren Basol, and Kate Sellers

Drum Major: Ace Cratin

Senior Members: Ry Bass, Ashley Berger, Dom Grabert, Jack Hanson, Carmine Hildreth, Naomi Hoffman, and Tyler Patrick
