Kindergarten registration is open for the 2025-26 school year

Kindergarten registration is now open! Starting Feb. 11, parents and guardians will be able to submit registration forms online through PowerSchool (our parent portal). Children who will turn 5 by Sept. 15 of this year are eligible for kindergarten registration. 

To register, click here. Parents and guardians who already have PowerSchool credentials may log in and follow the prompts for each section of the form. If you are brand-new to the school district, you will need to create a PowerSchool account to begin. 

Since you will be asked to upload documents when you begin your child’s registration form, it might be a good idea to have the following pieces of information ready to upload when you begin. You will be allowed to save the form and return to it later as long as you do not submit it. Items required for new student registration include:

• Proof of residency (deed or tax bill for homeowners/lessee affidavit, lease, and landlord letter for renters)

• Proof of age/parental status (birth certificate, custody order, passport, insurance/tax forms, etc.)

• Child’s immunization records

• Child’s dental/physical forms

• Child’s IEP, GIEP, 504, or evaluation reports (if applicable)

These items can be uploaded as image files (jpg, png) or document files (PDF, Word, etc.). 

Once your registration is submitted, it will be reviewed by our Central Registrar, Lenore Ciccolone. If information is missing or there are special circumstances related to residency, she may follow up with you and schedule an in-person appointment. Otherwise, your next communication will come from your child’s building.

• If you are new to Colonial School District and are unsure of which K-3 building your child might attend, you can review our attendance boundary map by clicking here.
• Save the date for the spring Kindergarten Orientation, which will be the evening of Thursday, May 8, at each of our K-3 buildings. You will get an invitation closer to the date of the event from your building principal.
• Kindergarten students will report to school for the new school year on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, for orientation. Classroom instruction will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 26. To access the most recent version of the 2025-26 calendar, please click here.
