Conshohocken welcomes senior citizens for an early Thanksgiving dinner

It was all about the community this year at Conshohocken Elementary School’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon for senior citizens. Third graders wore aprons and chef hats and served their guests a full turkey feast with all the trimmings.
“I enjoyed seeing people that I know, like neighbors and family,” said third grader Joey Michniewicz.
To prepare for the luncheon, the school’s Helping Hands Club made paper turkeys filled with candy for their guests, and the full third grade practiced songs for a short concert. The senior citizens enjoyed the activity and excitement in addition to the dinner.
For Debbie Hogan, the event reminded her of when her grandchildren were younger. “My grandson came here, so it brings back all of those memories.”
Thank you to Colonial School District’s Facilities Department for setting up the tables and to the Food & Nutrition Services for preparing the meal!
