Colonial School District welcomes 20 new teachers

Twenty new teachers are beginning their Colonial School District careers in the 2026-27 school year and participated in induction activities the week of Aug. 17. The incoming educators bring a wide variety of experience across several K–12 roles, including high school counseling, business, social studies, and speech; middle school English/Language Arts, music, counseling, science, and special education; and elementary counseling, general education, and special education.

The August induction activities included Colonial's signature district bus tour as well as interactive sessions delivered by district administrators on topics such as student-centered engagement and grouping strategies, belonging, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), digital accessibility, and ethical social media use. To wrap up the week, inductees will establish personalized professional practice goals for the upcoming academic year and meet with their building principals, department chairs/liaisons, and mentor teachers to ensure a seamless onboarding experience at Colonial.
