Colonial School District named Outstanding Visual Arts Community

Once again, Colonial School District has been recognized as an Outstanding Visual Arts Community by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association. The honor celebrates the District’s commitment to providing a strong K-12 visual arts program and the educators who make it happen.

With lessons ranging from weekly elementary art rotations and middle school electives to challenging Advanced Placement courses that offer students the opportunity to earn college credit at the high school, Colonial’s art teachers help students develop valuable skills in creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.

“These are the experiences that help students build a strong foundation for success—not only in the classroom, but also in their future careers and communities,” said Curriculum Supervisor Maria Wileczek. “Our students are encouraged and inspired to find their unique voices, share their perspectives, and make their mark.”

Each spring, Colonial showcases the work of many talented young artists at the annual District Art Show. Mark your calendars now for May 18, 2027!
