College Admissions Testing

COLLEGE ADMISSION TESTS
Most four year, and some two year colleges require either the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT. We encourage juniors to take an admission test in the spring and again in the fall of senior year. We don't recommend taking these tests more than three times. Some schools may also require the SAT Subject Test. Check the schools' admission requirements to be sure. On-line registration for these tests is encouraged. Plymouth Whitemarsh is not responsible for registering students for any of these tests. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact the College Counseling Office.

Register at www.collegeboard.org for the SAT.

Tests listed with an * are administered at PWHS.

All standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) must be sent directly from the testing center. PWHS does not release test scores and they do not appear on the high school transcript.

Our school code number is 394040. This code is often required on college applications and is needed to register for an admission test.

Also, check the website www.fairtest.org for a list of colleges that are test optional.

  • PSAT
Students who pre-register for the PSAT will take the test on Wednesday, TBD. Information will be distributed prior to the administration of this test. The PSAT registration form can be found on the counseling page under Forms.
  • FEE WAIVERS
Based on family income, students may qualify for fee waivers for standardized tests. Contact Ms. Lynch for more information.
  • STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Any student who requires testing accommodations for the SAT or ACT should contact his/her counselor immediately. There is an application procedure to request accommodations through the College Board or the ACT.
