Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s wrestling team wrapped up an impressive season with a strong showing in postseason competition. Throughout leagues, districts and regionals, the wrestlers battled through tough brackets and represented the program with grit, resilience, and determination.

From veteran leadership to breakthrough performances by younger wrestlers, this season showcased the continued growth of the program and the competitive spirit that defines the team, which is coached by Dan Madonna, Marcus Johnson, and John O’Malley.

Suburban One League (SOL) Liberty Division Championships

The team had an outstanding showing at the Suburban One League Liberty Championships, with several wrestlers earning podium finishes:

  • 107 lbs – 1st Place: Zach Murray
  • 114 lbs – 4th Place: Cooper Marshall
  • 121 lbs – 2nd Place: Evan Burns
  • 127 lbs – 2nd Place: Nicholas Bussell
  • 133 lbs – 1st Place: Henry Racich
  • 139 lbs – 1st Place: Eric Catenacci Jr.
  • 145 lbs – 3rd Place: Declan Hoover
  • 172 lbs – 4th Place: Luke Smith
  • 189 lbs – 3rd Place: Hamza Charabi
  • 285 lbs – 4th Place: Waneis Elshaari

Central Sectional Success: PW Advances 4 Wrestlers to Regionals

Four athletes delivered strong performances at the District 1 AAA Central Sectional Tournament, helping them earn top finishes and advancing them to the District 1 Regional Championships:

  • 107 lbs – 6th Place: Zach Murray (Junior)
  • 121 lbs – 5th Place: Evan Burns (Freshman)
  • 127 lbs – 4th Place: Nicholas Bussell (Junior)
  • 139 lbs – 3rd Place: Eric Catenacci Jr. (Senior)
