Description: Tri-M® Music Honor Society chapter opens up a world of opportunities for students who have already shown themselves to be academically capable and musically gifted. Through performance and community service, they’ll develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, compassion, and a host of other leadership skills sure to serve them well in school and beyond. Acceptance into the society requires achievement in music, a commitment to the arts and community, all while carrying exemplary character which is verified through not only music educators, but non-music educators at PWHS.
Eligibility Requirements: Service — Service activities include any actions undertaken by the student that are done with or on behalf of others without any direct financial or material compensation to the individual. There are 4 required service experiences/activities/projects totaling 10 hours. Candidates must have been enrolled in a school-sponsored music ensemble for at least one semester (Freshman may be considered), Candidates must have maintained for the previous semester at least an A average grade or equivalent in music, with at least a cumulative B average grade or equivalent in other academic subjects.

Procedure for Joining: OUR WHY? An essay: 500 word min, proper spelling and grammar, with introduction, and then a paragraph covering each of the 4 questions. Describe your willingness to serve the PWHS/Colonial community, in music or in other ways OR What you will bring to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Tri-M? Describe ways you are and/or can be a leader, both in and out of the classroom. -Describe a possible music service project Tri-M could take on this year. Describe how music has affected your life and why it is important to share those effects with others OR Why music is important to you
