Sport Signing Information

Starting in the 2023-24 school year, Colonial School District began organizing Signing Day events for students who intend to

play sports at the collegiate level. Three events per year are planned to allow for more participation and greater celebration for students’ significant athletic achievements.

These signing days are aligned to college recruitment signing day dates. The dates, or deadlines for signing the letter of intent,  have historically occurred in mid-November, mid-February, and mid-April.

Colonial’s signing dates conform to this time frame. Colonial recognizes all students who have committed to playing a sport in college, regardless of division.

Students who want to attend a National Signing Day event are asked to fill out a form that allows the Community Relations Department to compile a short bio that is read at the National Signing Day event that is held after school. Student athletes are then invited to sit and “sign” with their families, friends, and coaches as photos are taken. Students and families should wear clothing from the college/university they will attend. The photos are then shared on our website and on social media.

The National Signing Days for the 2025-26 school year will be: Nov. 19, 2025, Feb. 4, 2026, and April 22, 2026.

Students and families should make every effort to attend the established Signing Days, given that there are three opportunities during a school year. Those who are not able to attend on the scheduled Signing Days are invited to submit information through the form, but we will not hold additional events to accommodate late signings or missed events.
