PW Class of 2002's Krista Haig joins national advisory board

The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is proud to announce the appointment of Krista Haig, Certified Professional Coder and member of the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Class of 2002, to its National Advisory Board for the 2025-2027 term. Haig joins a distinguished group of industry leaders dedicated to advancing AAPC’s mission and supporting the business of healthcare.

Krista has worked for 13 years in both hospital and insurance company settings, focusing on billing, auditing, contract management, software implementation, denial management, and payer variance adjudication. She recently spent six years working at an acute care hospital in Doha, Qatar where she assisted the facility in its implementation of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding system. CPT coding assigns uniform codes to medical procedures—improving accuracy, efficiency, and consistency industrywide.

The National Advisory Board serves as a critical resource for AAPC leadership, offering guidance on industry trends, member needs, and organizational strategies. The board members actively participate in nationally sponsored conferences, events, publications, and educational programs to support and promote AAPC’s mission. They also write articles, speak at local chapters and healthcare events, and act as ambassadors for AAPC and its members.

AAPC is the world’s largest training and credentialing organization for the business of healthcare, with more than 275,000 members and 390 chapters worldwide. AAPC provides education and certification opportunities in medical coding, billing, auditing, compliance, and practice management, along with a wide range of resources to support healthcare professionals in their careers.

Congratulations, Krista!
