On Thursday, December 28, more than 50 Plymouth Whitemarsh graduates got together at Our Town Alley (formerly Facenda Whitaker) to have a reunion of sorts. Though these Alumni graduated from PWHS between 2008 and 2023, they all had one thing in common: They were all members of the PW Bowling Team during their time in high school.

Spread out among 14 lanes, the bowlers formed groups of four—some bowling with former teammates, others with friends, and others still invited guests to join them on the lanes.

Those in attendance included Julius Selfinger (Class of 2012) who rolled a perfect 300 game during his senior season; Francesca Schoettle (2017) who, prior to this year, held the all-time highest 3 game series (669) and Jamie Puglielli (2014) who held that same record (668) prior to Francesca overtaking her; Amy Costello (2010) who sits 4th on the all-time highest girl's single game list (256); siblings Pat (2011) and Joey (2013) Galleo; Alex (2020) and Morgan (2022) Krause; Sean (2016) and Chris (2020) Diorio; and Dylan (2009) and Jesse (2012) Murphy. Also, a few married couples were in attendance: Dylan and Kerri (Kleinschmidt) Murphy (2009) and Brendan and Kayla (Magliocco) Watton (2015).

Some of the more competitive bowlers asked to bowl together and there was some great bowling as Chris Cuthberston (2009) and Josh Taylor (2010) challenged Selfinger and Joey Galleo to see who would roll the highest game of the evening. The mystery of who came out on top remains!

The camaraderie and pride that everyone felt for having been part of this special program was evident in their smiles and interactions. Coach Jeff Blizzard who, along with retired Athletic Director, Charles Forster, started the team at the start of the 2004-05 school year, was in attendance, as was current Assistant Coach, Katy Geare. The opportunity to see and spend some time with these former high school athletes was incredibly rewarding. There will likely be another alumni event soon!
