Description: Following intense training, students engage in anti-bias and discrimination awareness activities with their peers in advisory settings.

Description: To infuse students with a passion for and knowledge of the craft of acting; including characterization, costuming, stage make-up, and technical design
By Laws: All cast and stage crew members will sign a contract entailing school rules as well as expectations of the member to perform to their utmost capabilities.

Description: The Jazz Band is a select group that performs for community events and competes in Cavalcade Jazz. Students develop their appreciation and knowledge of improvisation, ensemble playing and various styles of music.
Eligibility Requirements: All students must be experienced musicians that play trumpet, trombone, saxophone, guitar, bass, drums, or piano.
Time Commitment: One after school rehearsal per week and select evening rehearsals from November through May; several Friday and Saturday evening band competitions.

Marching Colonials
Description: The Marching Colonials participate in community events, perform at football games and compete in the Cavalcade of Bands.
Eligibility Requirements: Students audition to be a member of the guard or percussion sections. All wind players who possess basic proficiency are accepted.
Time Commitment: Rehearses prior to the end of school and then from the end of July until Thanksgiving. Annually, takes a trip to perform in places such as Canada, Virginia, New York and Ohio.

Media Production Club
Description: Offers hands-on media production opportunities for students interested in the development of audio/video content. Primary club activities involve taping school events which are broadcast on CITV and streamed on the District website. Students participate as camera operators, announcers, graphic designers, video editors and in other crew positions. Membership in the Media Production Club also gives the students access to professional production equipment, including HD cameras, drones, live-streaming technology and other resources for independent productions and programming. Student members are also able to request copies of their work for use in developing their professional portfolios.

National Art Honor Society
Description: Recognizes and inspires art students in grades 10th-12th to gain an outstanding ability to become artistic leaders by bringing art education to the attention of the public with community service activities related to art. Members who qualify promote an awareness of art and become active participants in the education process at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and our school district’s community. PWHS NAHS students demonstrate art scholarship, service, and character.
Eligibility Requirements: Students must have a minimum of one semester in art, maintain a B average, participate with community service activities particularly bringing art to our community and meet other national criteria.

Description: This is an after school chorus that sings a capella pop, madrigal, and show tunes. This group rehearses once a week and performs in the community.

Cancer Awareness Club
Description: We are a club that is committed to helping local families during their battle with cancer, and throughout the school year, we host a number of events to generate funds for these families. In addition to providing families with financial support, we also aim to go the extra mile by giving special gifts that have been tailored to their likes and interests.

Description: At PW, the Intersectional Feminism Club’s main goal it to raise awareness and spark conversation. NIX Cancer Club
Description: To raise money for the NixCancer Foundation, which was established to assist families fighting pediatric cancer and to fund research for Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). The club was founded by classmates of Nicholas Mincarelli, a Plymouth Elementary student who passed away from RMS in 2012.

PWHS Mini-THON
Description: An outreach of Penn State’s THON event, PWHS’s Mini-THON also raises funds for the Four Diamonds Foundation, where all proceeds go directly to Penn State’s children’s hospital and research toward pediatric cancer.
Eligibility Requirements: No disciplinary actions that would preclude a student from participating in dances, school trips, or other chaperoned events.
Time Commitment: a.) For students on the planning committee: biweekly meetings (30 mins), active participation in events that committee heads organize (become more
frequent and longer as the event approaches), set up and clean up event itself 8am-12am on actual event date b.) For student fundraisers: however much time is required to raise money to attend the event, attendance on event date from 11am-11pm.

Rocketry Club
Description: The PWHS Rocketry Club is a model rocketry club that competes in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC). TARC is the world’s largest rocketry contest and the aerospace industry’s signature STEM program for middle and high school
students. Over the course of the contest, students learn to use hands on engineering skills to design and fabricate a rocket to meet challenging mission criteria that change each year.
Eligibility Requirements: All students with interest in model rocketry are welcome to join.

Description: TED is an annual event that brings together the world's leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline — technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business, development. In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading," TED has created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDxYouth@PWHS is not organized by TED Conferences, but is operated under a license from TED.
TEDxYouth@PWHS aims to highlight some of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s students who are doing great things within the community and have great stories to share in order to spark deep discussion and build community connections.
